Ever wish you could walk to your wardrobe and know exactly where everything lived?  What if you could? …

1.DON’T KEEP SHOES IN BOXES

Shoes in boxes means shoes you can’t see. If you can’t see it you automatically think you don’t own it. Where possible display your shoes neatly on a shoe rack, in a cupboard or on dedicated shelves. If strapped for space, as the seasons change, put the shoes you are no longer wearing in plastic containers or clear shoe boxes and rotate them.

 2. FOUR SEASONS IN ONE WARDROBE

Hanging everything you own in your wardrobe becomes overwhelming, cluttered and disorganised. Remove seasonal items and place them in an alternate wardrobe or put them in a large plastic storage container – clearly these are great storage solutions. As the season changes you can revisit your items and alternate them along with your shoes.

 3. REMOVE UNNECESSARY ITEMS

Hats, scarves and items you bring out once a year should be removed from the valuable space in your wardrobe. Bulky items and yearly outfits only contribute to the clutter.

 4. DISPLAY YOUR JEWELS

If you love your accessories and have plenty of them shoved in a draw somewhere, then it’s time to find some order. Get creative and display them in frames or on a jewellery rack. Not only will they become a piece of art but you will have instant access to all of your gems and jewels in a second.

 5. WEAR EVERYTHING

If you don’t wear it, let it go. Donate your unworn items to charity, arrange a fashion swap with girlfriends or sell online. There is no point keeping things “just in case”. If it has hung in your closet for a year, it will continue to hang for another.
