JAIMIE SORTINO // Woodland Lights

Jaimie Sortino’s latest collection, Woodland Lights was officially unveiled last friday to a packed house of VIP guests all eager to view his masterful creations. Accustomed to seeing great things from the Adelaide based couturier and his epynomous label, what was presented on the night exceeded already high expectations. His 10 piece collection exuded confidence, elegance and an whimsical edge that sets the wearer a part from the crowd. Using fine fabrics sourced from France and Italy coupled with hand cut embellishments, hand cut lace detailing and custom treatments, the pieces are a testament to Jaimie’s expert craftsmanship and unwavering dedication to his vision of excellence.

“Inspired by the rich landscapes of the Adelaide Hills, this collection uses a colour palette of dusty rose pinks, midnight blues and injections of silver and ivory that are reminiscent of the dusky sunset hues. Jaimie’s signature custom embellishment mimics the silhouette of ethereal tree branches against the night sky, and the glimmer of stars bursting through the clouds.”

“Every collection is very personal to me, it has a story and a unique feel, and this collection in particular, has a very special inspiration,” Sortino says of growing up in the Adelaide Hills.

“Each piece has its own effortless drama, and it’s own allure, these gowns are custom made and no two are alike,” Sortino says.

From winning the Adelaide Fashion Festival Emerging Designer Award in 2010 to his latest collection unveiling Jaimie Sortino has excelled in the industry and become a thriving influence on Australian couture, dressing the likes of Delta Goodrem, The Block stars Alisa & Lysnadra and Real Housewives socialite Jackie Gillies.
