It’s just what the West End was calling for, a delicious dessert haven with premium quality ice cream and a range of mouth-watering cold & hot beverages. Mövenpick, an internationally acclaimed brand known for their premium quality ice cream has at last opened its doors. Located in the heart of the West End on the corner of Leigh St and Hindley St, we chat to franchise owners Vanessa & Billy.


Founded in the 60’s by renowned Swiss chef Ueli Prager, Mövenpick was created with the vision of providing premium quality ice cream, sourcing only the best ingredients to be served in the finest hotels and restaurants around the world. It was made by chefs for chefs, but demand was so high that now as well as finding it in most 5 star hotels, you can visit ice cream boutiques around the globe. 


Billy: “It has to be the way it’s made, 100% all natural ingredients, no artificial flavouring or stabilisers, just the way it should be. You can taste the quality in each mouthful, Mövenpick scour the globe to source the best of the best, Alfonso Mangos from India, Macadamias from Australia and coconuts from Indonesia. Customers love that they can travel the world with a few scoops.”


We loved the hot chocolate (mix yourself, with chocolate sauce on the bottom), sparkling sorbet which are 99% fat free (lemon lime / mango/ raspberry) and of course the coffee, available all day, it’s a great stop off for that post work pick-me-up.


Not just expertly crafted ice creams, there’s also a delectable range of desserts to try.

Chocolate Fondant – Indulgence like no other, with an oozing chocolate centre it’s a chocoholics delight. 

Apple Strudel – Crispy pastry and warm apple filling perfectly complimented with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream. 

Swiss Roll Berry (also available in chocolate) – Fresh bursts of flavour, it has all the components of a great dessert, cake, fresh cream, berries and chocolate flakes and berries.
