We gave them Kylie, now the UK is sending us a superstar of their own. After sell-out seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe and in London’s glittering West End, Jon Brittain and Matt Tedford are bringing the satirical Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho to the festival. How did the Iron Lady get lost in the gay bars of Soho and accidentally become a cabaret superstar – and will she change her mind about the homophobic law, Section 28, before it’s too late?

Other free events during the Festival include the Songwriter Series, which will see creative minds of Cabaret and musical theatre composer’s show-and-tell how they get their creative juices flowing guided by co-Artistic Director Eddie Perfect. Award-winning international composer and sought after musical director Lance Horne will share his industry insights and experiences in an Insights Workshop. Still want to know what’s inside a song or a story?
