Will You Marry Me?
Our anniversary is New Year’s Eve and every year we head down to Sellicks Beach and spend a few days there. This year was no different! We made our way to the coast, checked into our little cabin and wandered down to the nearby rocks. Although noticeably quiet the entire morning, Rick suggested we go to ‘our spot’, a rock etched with our initials. As we arrived I could see something written near our engraving. I instantly thought someone had vandalised our rock, until I read the words carefully, ‘give me 25 to life’. This is from the Jason Derulo song, ‘It Girl’, which for some reason Rick always used to sing to me. By the time I turned around, he was on bended knee holding an amazing rose gold engagement ring! I burst into tears and hugged him so tight.Breathtaking, dreamy and romantic… these are the sort of words your mind conjures when you gaze upon this ‘I do’ celebration captured by Jack Small Photography.
Dress. By the talented Paolo Sebastian. He was absolutely wonderful and the most patient person I have ever met. The gown embraced a V-shaped back and neckline, full-length sleeves and a gorgeous semi-full tulle skirt with a lace overlay. Paolo finished it off with a belt in the same fabric.
Accessories. The ‘All Spectrum’ crown by Viktoria Novak. It was the most unbelievable piece and handmade which made it even more beautiful (plus meeting Viktoria was an experience in itself, she’s beautiful!).
Hair & Makeup. Tom and Sebastian from Sequel by Parlour styled everyone’s hair for the day. The wonderful Samantha Vlassis and Minas Georgiou did the makeup. I chose a bronzed smoky eye with a nude lip for the church and a deep burgundy pout for the evening.
Rings. My engagement ring is a gorgeous rose gold band with a six claw round diamond in the middle and six small diamonds either side. Since my grandmother has passed away, it was very important and sentimental for me to use her wedding band. We went through James Thredgold for the ‘recreation’ and they were wonderful. The band was remodelled into a simple rose gold design with fourteen small clawed diamonds.
Dresses. Simple white midi length dresses from AQ/AQ online, with a strong shoulder and a fabric draping across the front. The shape looked fabulous on everyone (even my beautiful bridesmaid who is pregnant with twins!). The girls accessorised with a gold belt from ASOS and simple nude stilettos from Iconic.
Groom & Groomsmen’s Suits. Rick and the boys looked very handsome in their French navy suits, paired with a white shirt, tan shoes, a burgundy tie and burgundy pocket square, all from Peter Jackson.
Groom’s Ring. A thick plain rose gold band with a thin line of white gold.
Décor. The barrel shed was set up with four long trestle tables and a dance floor. Outside we had a marquee attached to the entrance of the shed to create the ‘outdoor’ space with the bar. We hired a turf wall from White Marquee with ‘Mr & Mrs Capaldo’ sprayed white and fixed to the wall. Austin Bloom filled hanging baskets with wonderful greenery, florals and ribbon and suspended them from the marquee ceiling and feature wall. The amazing girls from Sash Events supplied all the furniture and lighting. White wire chandeliers, festoon lighting, peacock chairs, white wooden paneled bars, wire bar tables and stools, ottomans, white and gold pillows, it all fit into the space perfectly.
Cake. We had a very classic two-tier, white fondant cake, created by the wonderful Alyce in Cookieland. The flavours were lemon mud for one and white chocolate and raspberry mud for the other.
Flowers. Esther from Austin Bloom was amazing; her work caught my attention immediately. The two metre bridal bouquet she created was absolutely incredible!
Photographer. Jack Small Photography has captured our entire love journey from the proposal to our engagement and now the wedding. There was no one else we would have used, he’s become more than a photographer, he’s our friend. Jack’s style is relaxed and candid, which Rick and I Iove.
Videographer. Tony Marinceski from Out Of the Office Productions. We loved having them with us on the day.
Entertainment. Stellar Music entertained guests. They bring a certain mood and contagious energy to a celebration.
Accommodation. We stayed at The Manna at Hanhdorf in one of their spa suites.
