This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Barossa Vintage Festival. This event has been a landmark for Barossan culture for decades and we’re so excited to go all out to celebrate in one of the most beautiful wine regions in the world!

Barossa Vintage Festival takes place on the 19th to the 23rd of April for a weekend of unforgettable events. Spotted around the region, the program varies from casual family friendly events to exquisitely organised exclusive dinners and intimate masterclasses. We’ve been craving a weekend away with the girls – world-renowned wine, live music, gourmet food, what’s not to love!

We put together the dream itinerary for a weekend of vino, dancing, girly chats and fancy dress. With so many events to choose from, there’s plenty of options to fill your agenda. Thursday 20th April

Flower Arranging & Wine Tasting

If you’re after a take-care-of-me, inclusive, long lunch to remember, this is one not to be missed. The legendary Jock Zonfrillo’s Restaurant Blackwood will be taking care of the menu, so be prepared for the locally sourced, native ingredient focused, seasonal food they are known for. Accompanied with Whistler Wines’ best pours, including unmistakable classics to new generation favourites, this is no ordinary long lunch!

In the midst of a whole weekend of eating and drinking (not that there’s anything wrong with that), you’re bound to get that natural itch for a little bit of retail therapy. Good news – the Barossa has an excellent retail scene, filled with talented artisans, local brands, unique finds, contemporary design and homewares… it’s the Barossa’s best kept secret. Kick off your Saturday the right way, grab a ticket and your Tasting Trail map from any participating venue. Wander along the main streets of Barossa’s main towns to find exclusive in-store promotions, sample traditional eateries and more. Visit at your own pace – it’s the perfect lazy-day activity which will take as much or little time as you like. Don’t miss a fabulous fashion show in the Tanunda Town Square from 2pm featuring local clothing retailer Lami Saru and baby and children’s store, Daisy and Hen!

Enjoy this outdoor 5 course degustation under the shade of the old carob trees with fresh seasonal food served by Callum Hann and Themis Chryssidis and the team from Sprout Cooking School. The courses will be matched with wines from Nuriootpa’s best wineries: Elderton Wines, Yelland and Papps, Kaesler’s and First Drop, Gibson’s and Willow’s.  ‘Our Table’ Lunch & Demonstration

Visit Jacob’s Estate for an interactive cooking demonstration, walking through Jacob’s Creek’s food history, re-creating period dishes from the 1840s through to today. Recipes hand-selected from Jacob’s family diaries and journals, this is a true glimpse into the Barossa’s long-standing and intriguing history. End with the ‘Our Table’ lunch in the kitchen garden.
