Did you know when you sit down for dinner with friends 61 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer?
The Hospital Research Foundation’s annual cancer fundraiser The Longest Table is back, and this year you can host your dinner with friends to #forkcancer at delicious local Adelaide eateries close to home.
By hosting a Longest Table dinner with your friends at a local restaurant 100 per cent of the funds you raise go to The Hospital Research Foundation to help save lives.
The Longest Table ambassador Bree May from Food According to Bree knows all too well the importance of cancer research, knowing that members of her family wouldn’t be here today without it.
“When my mum got on the phone to me she said ‘don’t be scared I’m going to be alright’ and then she told me she had breast cancer. I don’t know what I would do without my mum, she is my biggest support and to be told that is very terrifying,” Bree said.
“I know firsthand how much cancer research actually does save lives, my mum and my brother are here because of the research that The Longest Table funds.”
You can join Bree and host your Longest Table at one of many Longest Table Participating Venues ranging from Jack Ruby and La Boca Bar and Grill in Adelaide’s buzzing city centre to The Maid out east and the Bridgewater Mill up in the hills – just to name a few.
“It’s simple, pick your Participating Venue of choice, call and book a table and then pick a donation price from your guests to add to the ticket prize,” Bree said.
“On the night you can kick back, relax and let the restaurant do all the hard work for you while you focus on enjoying your dinner with friends and most importantly forking cancer for good!”
By hosting a Longest Table Dinner you’re supporting local Adelaide researchers who are finding better treatments and ultimately a cure for common cancers like breast cancer, skin cancer, prostate cancer and many more.
A cure could be at the end of your Longest Table! Visit www.thelongesttable.com.au to register or find out more.
