Shop 10, Marina Pier, Glenelg
Half shelled, raw, smoked, boiled, baked, fried, roasted, stewed, pickled, steamed, grilled. How do you like your oysters? We like ours at The Oyster Bar.
A relaxed establishment in the heart of The Marina, The Oyster Bar is a Glenelg institution that attracts oyster lovers from around the world. Jarrad and Kirsty purchased the venue in February 2010, working hard to increase the small menu to offer more variety for the oyster loving and non-oyster loving customers. They’ve certainly risen to the challenge.
Sourced from Coffin Bay, the hefty selection of inventive oyster dishes promote ‘chilled’, ‘grilled’ and everything in between. For others, there’s the Temptation options, inclusive of gourmet grazing plates, antipasto platters, marinated seafood spreads, salt and pepper squid and a salty side of spicy wedges.
The wine list is hand-picked from some of the best cellar doors in South Australia, selected specifically to complement the menu. Good food, good wine, impeccable views and a wraparound bar serving a range of beers. Trust us, you’ll want to reserve your seat for an entire afternoon.
DID YOU KNOW?
Jarrad and Kirsty have grown their oyster bar concept, with two new venues now open in Dolphin Quay, Mandurah WA and the Waterfront in Darwin.
If you’re the daring type, challenge yourself to an oyster eating competition. Consume four, six or ten dozen oysters and you can have your name permanently inscribed on the establishment’s wall. The current ‘Oyster Bar’ champion finished a whopping 42 dozen!
