Tell me a bit about Luxe Style Co.

Luxe Style Co. is now a little over two years old. My original vision was to create a boutique furniture and homewares store that allows you to relax, have a coffe and browse; somewhere you can shop for yourself, find a gift for a friend or find something unique and stylish for your home. I’m a lover of all things art, crafts and style and I found the inspiration to start my business after having my children, initially decorating my own home and the kids’ bedrooms, and then the rooms of friends and family. I was encouraged by how much I loved creating these beautiful spaces and how much my friends loved my work – I knew then that I could make this into a career, not just a hobby, and I was right!

You stock a mix of local artisans as well as premium brands, how do you select your stock and stay ahead of the trends?

I am constantly researching trends and styles overseas, and leading designers and artists here in Australia. I also love going to trade shows, lectures and workshops, and of course Pinterest and Instagram are a great source of inspiration too!

What is Luxe Style Co’s point of difference?

With an eclectic taste for furniture and homewares. Luxe Style Co. is a collaborative of items I have sourced from local and International artisans, as well as my favourite designer brands and pieces, including my own branded furniture and accessories – these are pieces that you can’t find in mainstream stores. We also represent many great brands, including Globe West, Slim Aarons, HK Living, Armadillo & Co., Bonnie and Neil, Greenhouse Interiors, Linen House and more.??

Tell us about your styling service.

Before I started Luxe Style Co. I was a stay-at-home mum to my two beautiful children, Cooper and Ava, so I am aware of how important it is to provide stylish and practical products for all budgets. The styling service has been an extension of our retail space and as part of this service we offer in depth consultations, detailed proposals, and the peace of mind that we will be with you every step of the way, from paint selections through to purchasing furniture and materials.

Renovations and restyling are a challenge – why should people consider using the services of a professional stylist?

We have access to a lot of products that are not always available to general retailers, which is great for clients who want something unique like limited edition artwork or bespoke furniture. Other people just find it difficult to visualise a look themselves or just needing someone to bounce ideas off. We are an affordable home style service as no hourly rate is charged, just the one off call out fee!

What interior items should people should splurge on, and what items can you afford to skimp on?

Invest well in key items such as a rug, couch and artwork. I would suggest purchasing limited edition prints?from artists when choosing artwork, it’s more affordable than original artwork but still more unique than mass produced prints. When choosing the right rug purchase something that looks and feels amazing and is good quality – we?recommend Armadillo and Co. Rugs. They not only look stylish but are natural and sustainable, 100 percent handmade and are socially responsible.
