Spring has finally sprung, meaning winter hibernation is over! Shave those legs and toss those wooly, winter layers because Adelaide is heating up and October is fast becoming the new ‘Mad March.’ We’re starting to get a glimpse of that summer warmth; the days are staying lighter for longer and all the juicy events kick off. Leave the confides of your well insulated home; swap tea for wine, blankets for boogies and heaters for sunshine –some of the year’s best food, music and cultural festivals are fast approaching.

Spring Affair  

Six of McLaren Vale’s most favoured wineries have been selected as part of this year’s Spring Affair. Guests can choose to roam between locations as part of their wine tour packages or, stay put under the sun at one location for the whole day, enjoying all the food and wine on offer. A number of Adelaide pubs also offer return bus tours leaving from their venues in and around the city. Tickets are selling out fast – jump online to secure your spot!

Saturday, 6 October  

Inspired by the traditional Bavarian festival, Oktoberfest celebrates all things German in its new location at the Adelaide Show Grounds. Performances, competitions, entertainment and a silent disco are just a few of the things to be expected at this years festival.

17 – 21 October  
Adelaide Fashion Festival  

Adelaide’s annual fashion festival has returned for another season. Making the come back to its home grounds at Torrens Parade, some of the best local emerging and established fashion and couture designers will showcase their work on the runway over the course of the five day festival. Including the ever-popular Paolo Sebastian, who again, will release his latest collection live on the runway at his already sold out shows. 25 October – 11 November  
OzAsia Festival  

Back for another year, OzAsia festival boasts a diverse range of entertainment, art exhibitions, performances, live shows and the ever popular Lucky Dumpling Market; home of OzAsia Fest, showcasing a variety of traditional, oriental cuisines, street foods, wine beer and market stalls. Check the website for all the happenings!

27 October 
Field Good Festival  

Born in South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula and raised by a couple of local gig lovers, this music and camping festival closes the month of October with a funky, home-grown line-up of artists, nestled deep in the sticks of Adelaide’s south, inland from Victor Harbour. Get your tickets here.

Unley Night Market – Opening Night  

Kicking off the market season, the Unley Night Markets offer local makers, artists, creators, designers and sellers as well as the best street eats from a huge range of vendors.
