Meet the owner behind the latest salon to hit the North-East, Connor Brewis of Bandit & Co.
“When I was a kid I wanted to be a plumber but it was a short-lived career – I also had a go at welding and cabinet making but quickly realised it wasn’t for me. I wanted a job that was creative and allowed me to be myself. I’m loud and outgoing, and incredibly honest, so finding a job that allowed me to be all those things was important.
After a few attempts at cutting my friends hair I knew hairdressing was going to be my thing. I was passionate about it. It wasn’t necessarily a defining moment, but it was definitely a realisation that this is what I wanted to do.
That was seven years ago, and just eight months ago I took a leap and opened my own salon. I wanted to grow as a hairdresser and to have opportunities that working for someone else wouldn’t allow. It’s a happy environment at Bandit, which in turn means a happy client! Plus, I love what I do, and as a hairdresser that shows in your work.”
