Create a subtle change to your look by experimenting with seasonal hair trends.
Sueno Hair Co-Owner Jim Kefalianos talks us through the latest colours and cuts.
Q I want to create a more ‘summery’ look for my hair that doesn’t involve a lot of upkeep. As a dark brunette, full dye jobs take a lot of time and work to maintain – what are my options?
A “Brunette clients can start to lighten up their colours leading into summer. Balyage or baby lights are both beautiful and natural looking ways to lighten up and give dark hair added dimension. The current colour trend for brunettes is moving towards slightly cooler tones or variations of copper.”
Q I’m a blonde, and I’ve been thinking about putting a colour wash through my hair. What are some of the trendiest colours at the moment, and what product do you recommend I use?
A “Wella Professional has a colour range called Colour Fresh that are a semi permanent ammonia, peroxide and fragrant free colour. It is the perfect option for blondes who want to have a little play without having to get rid of their blonde, especially this close to summer. The trends for Spring are your rose golds, apricots, corals and faded pastels tones. We also suggest to clients to take home an EVO Fabuloso coloured conditioner, which is tailored to their colour as up keep.”
Q I currently have shoulder length hair, but I’m getting tired of playing it safe with my cut and am thinking of making a big change. Which celebrities or style icons should I look to for my Spring/Summer chop inspiration?
A “We absolutely love Jesinta Franklin’s style, she is sporting a super cute short haircut at the moment. Bec Judd and Nadia Bartel are constantly being shown around the salon for colour and style. Kaia Crawford (Cindy Crawford’s daughter) is being shown a lot for her latest cute bob. Gorgeous model Eden Fines comes up a lot with our curly headed clients.”
