Independent Craft accelerators, Founders First recently launched Local Indie Craft Knock Offs, a mixed carton of independent Australian craft beer. The limited edition case features 16 hand-picked beers from local indie breweries around Australia including Sparkke, Jetty Road, Young Henry’s and many more.
“Going to the pub to catch your mates and favourite band in the front bar with a local craft beer in your hand is one of the great Aussie traditions,” says Founders First’s Director of Venues and Hospitality, Ash Cranston.
This tradition is one female founded Adelaide brewpub, Sparkke at the Whitmore looks to emulate with their new weekly music event: Thursday Night Knock Offs.
Designed in collaboration with Founders First, Thursday Night Knock Offs showcases local music talent, livestreamed from the the pub’s beautiful rooftop space. “We are really grateful to Founders First for supporting the talented musicians that will be appearing in this series,” says Sparkke co-founder, Kari Allen.
An extension of Sparkke’s female entrepreneurship in the industry, the lineup consists solely of female solo acts or female-fronted bands. Livestreamed every Thursday at 6pm from Sparkke’s Facebook channels (see here and here), each artist will perform two 20-minute sets.
Alt-country artist Alana Jagt kicked off the series on May 21, with The Boys Club set to take the rooftop stage this Thursday May 28. The Eileens will follow on June 4, and George Alice on June 11.
If you’re looking to show some extra love to those performing, there will be an opportunity to contribute directly to the via the artist’s PayPal donation account.
Thursday Night Knock Offs never sounded so good.
Knock Offs are available exclusively at Liquorland, Vintage Cellars and First Choice Liquor. RRP: from $60.
